World Premiere of DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE Successfully Completed

The Asian American Orchestra with Voices of a Dream vocal ensemble and featuring Dr. Angela Davis and Janice Mirikitani successfully performed as the featured act of the 2018 San Francisco International Arts Festival.

The night opened with selections from E.O. 9066 and the piece GO FOR BROKE! featuring spoken word from Janice Mirikitani.

After a brief intermission, Voices of a Dream (VOAD) vocal ensemble opened with Wade in the Water, Ella's Song, Take My Hand before Dr. Angela Davis gave her spoken word and ended the movement with DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE.

The whole Asian American Orchestra joined the final and fifth movement with Lift Every Voice with the audience joining in.
